Archived News Season 2004-2005
May 15th 2005 -- Spirit (officialy "Espirit") has joined the Sleeping Forest Team! A little male from the breeder Guy Marinus and son of his own Curly and Eugene's Run for Fun. Check out some avant-première pics in the dogs pages.
April 21st 2005 -- Check out the piccies of Sky&Arrow in our garden. A full report on the last season, and our intentions and hopes for the next, will be published very soon. We are expecting our third malamute in a few weeks, codename "E", and once it is with us we will post some pics of him/her too ... what did you expect ;)
March 7th 2005 -- The WSA European Sprint was a success for the Belgians, and particulary also for us. With 4 podia out of 5 Belgian competitors, a 3th place out of 13 countries in the Nations Cup, a 1st place for Denis Deluyker in D2, 2nd place in the O for Joël Reyniers, and a 3th place for both Jelle Rooryck and us in D1 and D2 respectively, whe can proudly say that we had a very strong delegation this year. Check out the pics in the  race section. We don't have action pics yet, but they'll come.

We finished 2nd in our last race of this season in Brussels. It was a very nice race for us, certainly because we jumped a place from 3th to 2nd in the Belgian Cart Championship. But now we'll start thinking about next season. We had a superb winter and we'll try to keep on training as long as the temperatures allow it.

Meanwhile, our Vanette 2.0 diesel is for sale. Now that it is finally fully ready and in shape, we'll have to trade it for someting bigger. Children, you know :) So anyone who wants to start mushing and is looking for a cheap and solid transport, feel free to contact us!

February 3th 2005 -- Okay, okay ... we've been busy. So here it is, a load of pictures of our two latest mushing events: the race in St-Ulrich, Austria, and the training camp in St-Vith. The first was a unique experience for us, since it was our first sleddograce with a sled! We finished 3th out of 7, which is quite okay ;) St-Vith should have been the Belgian Championship, but there was not enough snow to have a safe race. We trained anyway, since we need the training. We are going to participate in the European Championship of the WSA in Nauders, Austria! Check out www.wsa-ec2005.com and expect the report in a few weeks!

Check out the pics of St-Vith and St-Ulrich in the race section!
January 16th 2005 -- Winter doesn't want to cooperate this season ... a lot of the races and "usual" training camps (Haidmühle, Weng, La Pesse ...) were either coping with a lack of snow or with rainfall destroying the trail. Since we desperately needed some snowtraining before the races later in the season, we went to Switzerland at an altitude of 1350m. Although we were the only Belgian at the little stake-out, we were able to do 3 runs in 3 days on a perfect trail. See for yourself in the pic album ;)

We are now preparing for the race in St Ulrich, Austria. After that it's destination Sankt Vith and maybe even the European Championship in Nauders. Sky and Arrow are in good shape and seem to be finding their speed again ... we'll see!

Check out the pics of the training camp in the race section!

December 26th 2004 -- Merry Christmas & Happy Newyear!!! Okay, we've been busy, so it took a while to update the website. But now you can finally check out our results & pics of the races in the Maasvallei and Houthalen ... we finished 3th in both of 'em! Great! Anyway, we're preparing for the Belgian Championship Snow in Weng, Austria! Expect some nice white pics in the near future :)

Check out the pics of the last 2 races in the race section!

November 16th 2004 -- We went to the second manche counting for the Belgian Championship Kart in Vilvoorde, Belgium. After an overhaul of the kart and some fresh meat for the dogs, we felt ready to give our competition (we were 3rd in the championship after one race) a hard time! Although the team was excellent and despite some minor problems on the trail, we managed to finish second out of 6 competitors, which means we'll jump a place in the championship!

There weren't as many mushers as we'd liked, but the athmosphere was great and the trail was nice (but tough!) Check out the pics in the race section!

November 5th 2004 -- During the last weekend of October, we went to E3 Strand, Eersel, The Netherlands. You cannot participate with a kart or a step there if you have only two dogs, but we've heard such good things about it that we went anyway. The only classes were we could enter were Pulka or Skijoring. We entered the Skijoring class, which means running in fact. Although we didn't train for this, we managed to get quite a good result despite the heavy competition ...

The trail was superb, the organization was splendid and the ambiance was right! Check out the pics in the race section!

Oktober 26th 2004 -- Our first kartrace this season, in Hofstade, Belgium, was a success.

Despite the hot weather and the fact that the dogs had to pull a heavier threecycle for the first time, we managed to finish 3th out of 10. We were only 13 seconds behind the second!

It is clear that the D2 category will be a challenge for us this season with some strong competition from the more "settled values" ;) Training is going great and we are still improving. Check out the pictures in the race section. Download and see the full results at www.mushingbelgium.com.

Oktober 4th 2004
-- We are preparing for the 2004-2005 season and frankly, the training sessions are going great! Sky seems to be born for sleddogracing and her enthousiasm keeps Arrow on the go. For now, sessions of 2 km are sheduled. We will be attending the Houthalen trainingsweekend and most of the 'local' (meaning: in & around Belgium) races as well. Most probably, we'll start in the D2 class, if we find a decent (and cheap) tricycle cart. Otherwise, it'll be good ol' green step. Which is fun enough ;)

August 15th 2004 -- This most amazing thing just happened! On the 10th of August, our very first child was born! Our son's name is Jarno Bosseloo. Karo and Jarno are in perfect shape, everything went very well. Today they got to go home.

We'd like to thank Jarno's grandparents, grand-grandparents and his many aunts and uncles for the help and support. You can take a look at some pictures at this address.
