The Sleeping Forest Dogs

Of course, a sleddog team is nothing without sleddogs. Our team currently consists of 3 dogs: JoMa IssuesLine ArrowHiute (male), SnowFoot CrystalSky (female) and the little Espirit (male), which is too little to work yet. Arrow is now 3 years old, Sky is 1,5 yrs and both are in good shape. At short distances - 4 to 8 km - they are able to compete with most competitors in international D2 events (D2 stands for the class where a musher stands on a sled and is pulled by two dogs -- check out our race results for the proof ;). Spirit is our newest asset, we will start to train him near the end of next season and he will enter competition in the 2006-2007 season.

Arrowhiute -- Jo-Ma Issuesline

Arrow is the son of Shelaskan's Son of a Chief (male) and Amayi Joli Mapa Issues of Yukon. He was born on the 15th of December 2000. He came out of a litter of 11 and was raised by our dear friends Ellen & Frank Kunz in Germany. At the moment, he is our only working sleddog and therefor he is both lead and wheeldog ;) Arrow is quite fast for a malamute, but has the typical malamute stubborness. We kinda hope to bring a bit more consistency in his performance by adding another dog next season. Of course, for the moment, he has to do everything alone, and that can't be motivating ... CrystalSky -- Snowfoot

Sky is the daughter of Snowfoot's Atimber One (male) and Howling Pack's Xqimmiq. She was born on the 9th of October 2003. She came out of a litter of 3, the others beeing Cherokee and CoCheese. She was raised by our good friends Danny & Myriam Bulens from Mechelen. Sky will be Arrow's companion as from the 2004-2005 season. While she is still too young to tell, we have a good feeling about her eagerness to pull and run. Beeing a female, she hopefully brings more stability in the team in regard to the average speed. We will participate in F2 or D2 events. Check out Sky's picture album here

Espirit -- Guy Marinus

The youngest to join the clan is our very own "Spirit". He's the son of Run for Fun and Curly, both very good working dogs. Fun is one of the most famous Belgian Malamutes there ever was. Spirit came out of a litter of 7. Every dog (they all took two) went to a very determined musher. Spirit was raised by Guy Marinus from Poederlee. Spirit should join the team in the 2006-2007 season, although he probably will benifit from late wintertraining next season as well. When he enters the team, we might compete in the C2 class.
